An interesting carved portland stone figure of a young girl in a plain dress with her left hand arranging her hair. Previously in a large garden in Warwickshire the background to this statue is not known but from the unworked back it was designed to go against a wall, possibly within a niche. The original base is missing and it has now been mounted onto a plain block of portland stone so that it can stand upright. It has enough size and charm to be an enigmatic focal point, even within a large garden.
Probably 19th Century
18" x 18" x 53" high
